2. Content Is for Informational Purposes
I'm a former interior designer sharing my personal experience and opinions. Everything on this blog is for informational and entertainment purposes. It is not professional design consultation. If you decide to paint your living room a bold terracotta because I did, and you hate it — I'm sorry, genuinely, but that decision was yours. My advice doesn't replace a professional who can see your actual space, light, and situation in person.
3. DIY and Safety Disclaimer
Many projects on this Site involve tools, paint, chemicals, ladders, electricity, and other things that can hurt you if handled improperly. Read product instructions. Wear appropriate safety gear. Know your limits. I am not liable for any injury, damage, or loss resulting from projects you undertake based on content on this Site. If a project feels beyond your skill level, hire a professional. I've hired plenty.
4. Affiliate Links and Advertising
Half Painted participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. This means some links on this Site are affiliate links — if you click through and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
I only link to products I've used personally or would genuinely recommend to a friend. Sponsored content and gifted products will always be clearly disclosed within the post. My opinions cannot be bought — though my mortgage keeps trying.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on halfpainted.com — including written posts, photographs, graphics, and the overall brand aesthetic — is owned by me (Whitney Reed) unless otherwise noted. You may share links to posts and quote short excerpts with credit and a link back to the original. This is a corner of the internet for people who care about their homes and laugh about the messy parts. Act accordingly.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Half Painted and Whitney Reed are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this Site or reliance on its content. This includes but isn't limited to: home improvement mishaps, paint color regret, plant death, furniture you refinished that didn't turn out, or arguments with your spouse about throw pillows.
